Hazardous pharmaceutical waste is any unused or expired over the counter drugs or medications that are defined as hazardous by the RCRA. Hazardous waste pharmaceuticals should be disposed of using a black container specifically for hazardous waste management. Management of pharmaceutical waste that is hazardous requires the generator to obtain an EPA ID number.
